What is a typical audition like? don't you get nervous knowing you only have one chance to say it in front of them(unless you get callbacks) and you might say it wrong/stress the words it in a way you didnt intend to? are casting directors usually nice? are the girls who are your competition trying to psych you out/catty/mean? how many girls are you usually up against, like in the waiting room with you? sorry for so many questions omg ahaha!
Really simple actually, it’s like a dentist appointment. You walk in, sign your name and role, sit down and wait for them to call you, “Hi, how are you?” “Great, my names _____” “Nice to meet you, begin when your ready.” Start.. finish. “Thank you so much, have a nice day.” Or they might give you feedback and ask you to read it a different way, then you leave. In and out, like that. You’ve just have to cast all your nerves into the scene, let everything go like you’ve practiced. Yeah, there friendly more times than not. No, usually when were all in the waiting room, we just mind our own business, no one really talks cause were going over our lines or trying to focus. In the waiting room, there usually no more than 10 at a time; but they come and go. Haha it’s okay!
soo i just took my first acting class...i kept playing it safe and im really disappointed with myself i feel like i completely SUCK! i didn't get good feedback and I don't know how to place myself in the moment...i have no confidence and am really shy, do u think i should gain confidence and then come back and see how much ive improved? it really got me down, i feel like ill never achieve it and ill always suck. like i'll never reach my dreams because i'm too "safe" with acting. idk what to do:(
Don’t stop! keep taking classes, the best way to get better is practice. Your confidence will gain more and more the more practice you get, because you will start to feel comfortable and break out of your shell. It doesn’t happen over night, trust me. It’s takes a lot to get where you wanna be. Keep going, don’t give up. AND DON’T PLAY IT SAFE! GO FOR IT. Think about it: what do you have to lose, in acting (until you actually book) you have nothing to lose, only gain so why hold back?
Ach like u must be there at that moment. Not liking not being there urge to be there. And ur pic looks like something from a photo shoot.
I mean i love California, and it makes a big difference being there for acting obviously, then in texas or anywhere else. I’m just so thankful i gt that opportunity to go for acting. Well, thanks. That’s a good thing, i assume!
